As the designer of the building's branding elements, including the signage, my goal for the entrance was to immediately establish the project's core theme. I designed the backlit lettering to create a "halo" effect, making the modern typography appear to float off the rugged brick surface. This first point of contact was crucial; it’s where we introduce the central design tension of the entire project—the interplay between raw, historic texture and clean, contemporary precision.

Sited in the vibrant heart of Koramangala, Bengaluru - Avantgarde House stands as a bold architectural statement , a corporate headquarters conceived as a physical manifestation of its brand's forward-thinking ethos. It was envisioned as a striking landmark that embodies the raw energy of New York’s industrial lofts while adapting it for a modern corporate setting. Designed for CEO Mr. Anirudh Gupta, an automobile enthusiast with a penchant for luxury yet bold spaces, the building exudes a unique “den-like” character both sophisticated and personal.

From the outset, we made a deliberate choice to use a palette of exposed bricks, strong geometric lines, and a palette of deep blacks and greys anchor the building with an unmistakable street presence. The interiors continue this narrative: balancing industrial rawness with contemporary polish through warm wood tones, metal accents, layered textures, and curated artwork.

Every element was a conscious decision, from the custom signage I personally designed to the curated art, the CEO’s cabin and terraces was crafted with precise attention to merge functionality with a deliberate aesthetic language that resonates with the vibrancy of New York while remaining deeply contextual to its Indian urban fabric. For us, Avantgarde House is a testament to how a clear design narrative can transform a building into a powerful story.

To realize the client's vision of a "New York den," we designed the CEO's cabin as an immersive sanctuary. We paneled the walls with floor-to-ceiling cabinetry in a dark wood laminate, a decision made to create a sense of gravitas and enclosure. the key challenge here was to not overdo the dark textures, and use materials that compliments the natural light in the room. To prevent the space from feeling disconnected, we integrated massive windows and sliding doors, which flood the room with natural light and frame the exterior greenery.

For the main workspace, our primary goal was to balance an industrial aesthetic with a productive, professional atmosphere. We treated the ceiling as a key design element, painting it dark and leaving it exposed with suspended track lighting to achieve that signature loft feeling. To ground the space, we selected large-format tiles with a concrete finish for their seamless look and durability. We then designed the custom workstations in a rich, dark wood grain, using them to introduce warmth and structure into the open-plan layout, while carefully placing planters to soften the overall environment.

We envisioned the terrace as the building's 'exhale' a tranquil counterpoint to the focused intensity of the workspaces below. To create a sense of intimacy and warmth, we clad the soffit in rich-toned wood. For the flooring and walls, we used cooler, concrete-toned materials to connect the space to the open sky. We integrated subtle scone wall-washing lights to ensure the atmosphere remains soft and inviting after dark. Our intent was to provide a versatile social hub - a modern Zen garden for a quiet coffee or a vibrant setting for company events.

The conference room showcases our design intent realized in a sophisticated and contemporary space. A redesigned marble table anchors the room with sustainability, paired with sleek blue ergonomic chairs to introduce a corporate yet refreshing color accent. The ceiling features warm-toned paneling combined with linear pendant lighting and track spotlights, providing both ambiance and task illumination. This render reflects how materiality, light, and color come together to create a space designed for collaboration, decision-making, and leadership.

For the MD Cabin, we envisioned a space that balances modern minimalism with timeless warmth. The mood board was curated with diverse material palettes deep wood tones, sleek black accents, and earthy neutrals that embody stability and leadership. The floor plan was carefully studied to integrate functional requirements of the client. We layered the design with textures: natural wood finishes for warmth, linear pendant lights for precision, and selected artworks to introduce character. This design intent captures how the cabin embodies the idea of a “New York den”, a retreat that speaks to lifestyle as much as it does to leadership.
